Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro is Macau's busy commercial center as well as a must-visit area for tourists coming to Macau. This famous district is the site of many historical and cultural relics, and a variety of shops including major jewelry stores selling good quality jewelry with the latest designs at reasonable prices.  The nearby Travessa da Felicidade and Travessa do Aterro Novo, streets with old traditional Chinese architecture, were made famous in the movie "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom".  Macau's famous pawnshop, Tak Seng On, is now the Culture Club, a culture heritage exhibit.
Rua do Cunha and Rua do Regedor are the "pastry streets" of the Cotai Strip.  They offer traditional sweets & pastries, including the Portuguese Egg Tart, durian ice cream and cuapo that Macau is famous for. Although this old city district still projects a comparatively leisurely & laid back atmosphere, many new tourism projects & hotels are being developed in this area.  The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel is located on the Cotai Strip; its Grand Canal Shops occupy an area of over 96,000 square feet and house over 350 high-class and name brand stores.
Extending from Red Market to Flora Park, Horta e Costa is a shopping district frequented by local people more than tourists. Instead of international name brand products, the stores here sell medium to high end Japanese & Korean clothing and shoes, cameras, computers and other electronic products. The Fortune Tower Shopping Centre located here is the largest computer market in Macau's city centre. Other small shops in Horta e Costa offer a large variety of items including jewelry, toys, fashion accessories, specialty snacks and foods, all at very affordable prices.
Some of Macau's 5-star hotels, including Hotel Lisboa and Wynn Macau, are located on Avenida da Praia Grande and Avenida do Infante D. Henrique. If you are looking for International name brands outlets like Chanel, Prada, Christian Dior, Cartier, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Ermenegildo Zegna, Piaget, Tiffany and Louis Vuitton, then this is the district to go shopping.  Wynn Macau, Macau Square and the "Iat Teng Hou" Shopping Centre are very popular shopping malls for tourists and locals alike.
The S. Domingo district includes the Senado Square, Rua de Sao Domingos, and Rua de Campo. This is the only commercial pedestrian zone and a very popular shopping area in Macau. The Senado Square is considered to be the City Centre and the confluence of Portuguese & Chinese cultures can be seen in world heritage buildings, churches, temples and shops found in this area. In additional to shops selling international brands and an infinite variety of consumer items, a large number of speciality food outlets offering authentic Macanese foods can be found here.
As more and more international hotels and tourist facilities are being built in Nam Van's Zone Zape, its reputation as the top tourist destination in Macau is unquestionable. With 1st class hotels, entertainment centres, the first theme park and the largest department store in Macau, ZAPE is the go-to district for visitors and locals alike. The Fisherman's Wharf, the New Yaohan and countless retail outlets of brand name products such as Burberry, Dunhill, Hermes and Louis Vuitton as well as gourmet restaurants are also located in this district.
